Day-by-Day Itinerary

ItineraryDay 1: Travel to North Wales
Relax as we head towards our holiday base in North Wales. Upon arrival at the welcoming Beaufort Park Hotel near Mold, you will be greeted with fresh tea, coffee, and a slice of delicious, traditional Welsh Bara Brith cake. After the hotel's porter service takes care of your luggage, settle into your comfortable room before gathering for a delightful three-course dinner.

Day 2: Conwy, Beaumaris & Puffin Island Cruise
This morning we visit Conwy, one of Britain's best-preserved medieval towns. Its ancient, towering walls enclose a town of narrow cobbled streets full of historic buildings dominated by its authentic castle atmosphere. In the afternoon, we travel to Beaumaris on the southeast corner of Anglesey for a memorable 75-minute Puffin Island Wildlife Cruise. Look out for seabirds, grey seals, and possibly even bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat. Time allowing, we return to the hotel via a stunning drive through Snowdonia National Park.

Day 3: Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen Canal & Erddig Hall
We head south this morning, traveling over the spectacular and sweeping Horseshoe Pass to Llangollen. Here, enjoy a delightful 45-minute horse-drawn boat trip along the peaceful canal, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This afternoon, our journey continues to the National Trust’s Erddig Hall. Widely regarded as one of the country's finest stately homes, visitors will love exploring this historic property and its formal gardens, which are filled with the fascinating stories of the family and the servants who lived here.

Day 4: Ruthin & The Bala Lake Railway
Our first stop today is the historic market town of Ruthin for some free time at leisure to explore its timber-framed buildings and charming shops. From there, we head to Llanuwchllyn to board the Bala Lake Railway for a delightful narrow-gauge steam train journey. This 9-mile return journey travels directly through the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, running alongside Bala Lake to offer excellent, uninterrupted views of the water and the surrounding mountain scenery.

Day 5: Homeward Journey
Enjoy a hearty full Welsh breakfast before we say goodbye to Wales. We load the coach and begin our homeward journey, reflecting on a wonderful week of Welsh coast and country landscapes.
